Beiyuan north transport hub to open by end of September
The main structure of the Beiyuan north transport hub will be completed by the end of June and the hub will start trail operation by the end of September.
The hub, which is designed to be larger than the Sihui transport hub, serves residents in Huilongguan and Tiantongyuan areas in Changping District of Beijing, and it allows passengers to transfer among subway, bus, intercity bus, private car and bicycle.
According to Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, a total of 12 bus lines will be opened at the hub, covering Beiyuan, Tiantongyuan, Huilongguan, Beiqijia, Xiaotangshan, Shahe and Xingshou areas in Changping District.
Next, Beijing will carry out a number of major transport projects to improve the traffic environment in the Huilongguan and Tiantongyuan areas so as to strengthen the areas’ connection with other key areas like Shangdi, Future Science City, CBD and Shunyi’s Airport Economic Development Zone, in an effort to invigorate the development of the northern part of the city.
